 I began my journey with Manzil Welfare Society (NGO) in year 2006. The reason for joining this NGO was to do my academics. I understand a question will arise that this can be done at other school then why Manzil. As other mischievous kids I also use to be a loitering kid but my mother knew that a correct direction will be given to me if I join Manzil. At Manzil I not only got academic knowledge but they give me clarification to the struggle which was going inside me. I use to do what anybody use to tell me, I didn’t had focus and didn’t know what life is.

Empowering Spinal Cord Injured Person

In India when you see a person on wheelchair you feel that it's may be by birth or some illness that a person is using a wheelchair. What we don't realize that it could be an accident that changes the life of a normal person and makes them wheelchair bound and we start feeling pity for them.

But when we see few wheelchair users propelling their wheelchairs as fast as possible and striking with each other to gain the possession of rugby ball then that really surprises you and a proud feeling takes over from the sympathy.

When I was first told that I had been given a great opportunity to write about Lalit Saini, little did I know that even the word ‘great’ did not do justice to the beauty of the stories that were later told.

Manzil’s Got Talent

This is the story of Shahbaaz, a graphic designer, quitter, dropout, teacher, reject and rebel.6 years ago Shahbaaz joined Manzil as a student of computer class.

For 4 years he was an on/off student, dabbling in theatre and guitar lessons in addition to his computer classes. He also participated in the Manzil Radio group for a while.After having learned the basics about computer programmes at Manzil, he went out in the world and acquired a more advanced set of skills by attending various courses and learning from different people.

Manzil or any other organization like Manzil is trying to create a space for children where they can make mistakes, ask questions, play, where there is no age barrier, where you can be a teacher and student at the same time and where you can be you. We recently got to know about a lovely space in Noida started by a friend of Manzil. Kamiya has created a space for the local kids where they can come and read books.
