Learning, Leadership and Livelihood: Manzil Internship

Manzil has been a space of learning for every student over many years. Every individual has learnt different things that have impacted his/her life positively. Through Classes, Events, Programs, Workshop, Conversations - one way or another, Manzil’s deep intention has been to create learning spaces that add value to everyone’s life and living.

Manzil has created one such opportunity from March 2021 for all Manzillions again through an Internship Program. Manzil’s vision through this project is to provide opportunities to young people for 3 ‘Ls’ - Learning, Leadership and Livelihood.

When Megha Met With Manzil

Megha

I always had an aspiration to be financially independent, empowered with confidence and skills to achieve my dreams. My father is a cook, and my mother a housewife, managing multiple responsibilities of children and home. While in Class X in school, I heard about Manzil, a space to learn and discover one’s potential, beyond what schools taught us. I was excited to explore this opportunity.

However, I soon found out that classes in Manzil were suspended due to Coronavirus, and were being shifted to an online mode.

The wellbeing sessions which were a need of the core team, teachers as well as the students started in late July 2021. The sessions were conducted by a psychologist named Gunjan, based in London.

Saturday की बात है, मैं online science की class attend कर रही थी, दीदी ने मुझसे सवाल पूछा और जब मेरी बारी खत्म हो गई तो मैं अपना माइक mute करना भूल गई। तभी मैंने अपनी मम्मी को मज़ाक-मज़ाक में कहा कि "आप मुझे किस्सी भी नहीं करते हो", उस वक़्त जो दीदी पढ़ा रही थी उन्होंने मुझे कहा "अरे-अरे दिव्या क्या हो गया, किस से किस्सी मांग रही हो"?

One Year of Virtual Manzil

This edition of our newsletter comes at a time when the whole country is recovering from the second wave of COVID-19 and in fear of the predicted third wave. The helplessness and the fear of losing near and dear ones during this pandemic has been a constant alive feeling for most of us.

आज हम मंज़िल की एक ऐसी स्टूडेंट के बारे में बात करेंगे जिन्हें देखकर लगता है कि निदा फ़ाज़ली साहब ने यह शेर जैसे उनके लिए ही लिखा हो। साथ ही, हम जानेंगे कि उनकी जिंदगी में ऐसा क्या है जो उन्हें एक मुसाफ़िर की तरह बिना रुके, बिना थके, चलते रहने और सीखते रहने की ऊर्जा देता है.

मैं और मेरी टीम ड्रामेबाज़ उदयपुर मे कम्युनिकेशन की वर्कशॉप अटेंड करने गये थे तो वहा के जो फेसिलिटेटर उन्होंने एक टास्क दिया था की हम लोग कैसे और लोगो को कम्युनिकेट कर सकते हैं, कैसे अपनी बाते समजा सकते हैं, सारा टाइम मेरे दिमाग़ मे वही चल रहा था, की हम कैसे प्रेजेंट करेंगे अपने टास्क को, मुझे कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा था किया करू कोई आइडिया भी नहीं आ रहा था क्यूँकि मैं टास्क को लेकर बहूत परेशान हो रहा था।
